PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE RATING: 150 psig maximum pressure, 350°F maximum temperature. GENERAL: Tubing, fittings, and valves shall be factory sealed with end caps. Tubing and fittings shall meet the requirements of the latest edition of the ASME Bioprocessing Equipment Standard (BPE). Systems shall comply with the attached MA and WA engineering specifications sheets except where otherwise noted. For compressed gases, in accordance with CGA G4.1, all tubing, fittings, gaskets and valves shall be cleaned, packaged and identified for use in oxygen services. FINISH: Tubing, Fittings ID: Mechanically polished to 15 -inch Ra average, 20 -inch Ra max. OD: Mechanically polished to 35 -inch Ra average for non-insulated exposed tubing. Bright annealed or pickled outside diameter for non-exposed tubing and insulated tubing. TUBING: Material Stainless steel, Type 316L, annealed, sanitary tubing. ½” to 1” Seamless or welded seam, ASTM A270/S2, 0.065” wall thickness. 1½” to 3” Welded seam, ASTM A270/S2, 0.065” wall thickness. 4” Welded seam, ASTM A270/S2, 0.083” wall thickness. 6” Welded seam, ASTM A 270/S2, 0.109” wall thickness. FITTINGS: Material Stainless steel, Type 316L, annealed. Wall thickness shall match tubing specifications. End Connections Butt weld All Sizes Extended tangent fittings suitable for automatic orbital welding. Clamp All Sizes Sanitary clamp end suitable for clamps as specified in this section. Manufacturer Fittings shall be by Triclover, Waukesha Cherry-Burrell, Cardinal, Jensen/Swagelok, Top-Line or approved equal. Three segment clamps also permissible up to 4”, Triclover 13MHHS or approved equal. 1” to 6” Stainless steel, Type 304, 2-piece bolted, polished, high pressure Triclover 13MHP or approved equal. GASKETS: General USP Class VI, molded o-ring type for sanitary clamp fittings. Materials Continuous Clean Steam and Hot Water (WFI or Purified Water) Applications Only: Mixture of 50% PTFE and 50% passivated 316L SS powder . Rubber Fab “TUF- STEEL”, or Newman “SILVERBACK”. Rated to 400°F continuous service. All Other Applications: EPDM. Newman 42RX-E for ½” and ¾”; Newman 40RX-E for 1” through 6”. Rated to 350F continuous service. VALVES: General All valves of the same type shall be provided by the same manufacturer for this project. Contractor or Manufacturer shall allow for selection of any of the listed vendors at a later date. Butt weld valves shall be supplied with extended tube ends suitable for automatic orbital welding and shall have a wall thickness matching the tubing specifications. Diaphragm Diaphragm valves shall be inline, zero static, zero static U-bend, GMP, sterile access, sample, multiport, or fabricated assemblies as indicated on the drawings. Where indicated on the P&IDs, Vendor to provide valve with travel open stop (limiting percent open). ½”, ¾” Body: 316L stainless steel forged or machined from bar stock. Bonnet: Thermoplastic bonnet and thermoplastic handwheel. Operator: Manual with position indicator and adjustable travel stop. Finish: Surface finishes shall match tubing and fitting surface finish specifications. Diaphragm: USP Class VI, peroxide cured EPDM. Internals: Sanitary internals including stainless steel stem, roll pin, and compressor. Connections: Valves shall have welded end connections unless otherwise noted on the drawings. Balls shall have ID identical to ID of tubing. Stem: 300 Series stainless steel. Provide with stem extension where piping is insulated. Operator: Hand lever operator, “T” handle on 2” and larger. Seats: TFM ball seats. RTFE stem packing. Connections: Valves shall have welded end connections unless otherwise indicated on the drawings. PBM Igenix Series, or approved equal. 6” Body: Three-piece, ASTM A351 CF3M cast, 316L stainless steel, bolted design. Carbon content shall not exceed 0.03% Finish: Surface finishes shall match tubing and fitting surface finish specifications. Ball: 300 Series forged stainless steel. Connections: Valves shall be suitable for installation between clamp ends. Cracking Press.: 1/3 psi Check-All Type SCV, or approved equal. NOTES  Sulfur content for tubing, fittings and valves with weld end connections shall be 0.005 - 0.017%.  Ferrite content for ball valve assemblies shall not exceed 5.0%. Ferrite content for diaphragm valve assemblies shall not exceed 0.5%. Ferrite content documentation required.  All piping components and valves in this line class shall be furnished with material test reports (MTR’s).  Fitting and valve end connections shall be as indicated on the P&ID.
