When construction is not under contract, all instructions contained herein shall be reflected in the contract sum and this Addendum will be made a part of the Contract Documents, if, as, and when a Contract is awarded. C. This Addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents and modifies the original Bidding Documents dated 12/03/2010, as noted below. After posts have been inserted into sleeves, fill annular space between post and sleeve with nonshrink, nonmetallic grout, mixed and placed to comply with anchoring material manufacturer’s written instructions. (Note the escutcheon plate is flush with adjacent pavement as shown in detail.) B. Where is there a detail of the Type E metal gate? B3/AE-706 is missing. 1. RESPONSE: There is no gate Type E in the project (RR). C. Where is the view of the generator roof that shows the metal fence? 1. RESPONSE: Metal fence is shown on A-103 and A-103D (RR). D. What perforation pattern is required for the aluminum panels? (gates, stairwells, generator roof) 1. RESPONSE: The perforation pattern type is a hole pattern, gauge .125 inches, ¾” x 1” Str. Sq., 56% open area. Finish shall be 2-coat fluoropolymer. E. 123553.B.3.6.C indicates the casework contractor is responsible for any designated lab signage. However, the casework elevation drawings indicate signage is OFOL Please advise. 1. RESPONSE: Project signage is Owner provided. F. 123553.B.3.6.L we assume the "glass lites" is referring to the glass for the glazed door cabinets. Please confirm. 1. Specification section 123553 specifies stainless steel casework, painted metal casework, painted metal casework with wood fronts, wood casework with wood drawer bodies and wood casework with metal drawer bodies. Drawings however do not indicate anything other than metal casework and wood casework. Please advise location for the different types of casework. 1. RESPONSE: There is no metal casework with wood fronts or wood with metal drawer bodies on the project. Specification section 123553.2.4 indicates a MAX/Lab wall rail system is required at wall shelving conditions. Exhibit B, Part B.3.13 Removable Panels, Marker Panels, Electrical Panels and related conditions. The first sentence instructs that we are to construct removable and operable panels where indicated including but not necessarily limited to work associated with applicable details on certain detail sheets, specifically AI-738 Electrical Panel Wall. The last sentence says that the fire extinguishers, marker boards, electrical panels and similar items are the responsibility of others. In reviewing specification section 064200 Wood Paneling it appears that wood panels and aluminum trim for the electrical panel wall is specified as part of that section. In reviewing the drawing details on sheet AI-738 certain parts of the details are labeled with specific specification sections. Please advise what part or parts of the electrical panel wall assembly we are to include in the casework bid package. 1. RESPONSE: The installation for each location is as follows: Wire Gauge Diameter: 0.1200. Mesh: Square weave wire mesh, 1 inch opening, 79% open area. Maximum Panel Dimensions: 48 inches (width) x (height) as indicated on drawings. Framing: Square Post and Square Rail. Finish: Galvanized. S. On the equipment schedule sheets A-041 and A-042, under notes, some of the fume hoods are required to have unexhausted/unvented toxic chemical storage cabinets that comply with UL 1275. We do not understand the reference to UL 1275 for the unexhausted/unvented toxic chemical storage cabinet. Please clarify how this affects this type cabinet which is an acid storage cabinet. 1. RESPONSE: The NC State Construction Office, upon reviewing the Owner’s chemical lists, requested that a portion of the fume hoods that will store hazardous materials are required to have the UL 1275 rating. The location of these fume hoods as well as the hazardous cabinets are indicated on the Life Safety plans, Sheets G-101 thru G-109.
