Is there any information in regards to the bottom elevation of the existing steam tunnel that is running parallel with Storm Filter 2 & Storage Tank 2? The plans show the Storm Filter & Storage Tank being installed ~ 5’ away from the existing steam tunnel; therefore, it is a possibility that the existing steam tunnel could be undermined which would raise a concern for some type of underpinning/bracing. 1. RESPONSE: The elevation of the bottom of the steam tunnel at the southeast corner of the Storm Tank-2 is approximately 486, at the southwest corner the bottom of the steam tunnel is approximately 484.5. This information is according to drawings provided by the Owner. YYY. Note #1 for the Underground Storage Tank/Cistern on Sheet C-411.B states, “Contractor is responsible for having a qualified professional geo-technical engineer licensed in North Carolina to test and certify that the subgrade for Storage Tank/Cistern is in conformance with the plans and specifications and is suitable. The mudmat installation shall also be done under the supervision of a geo-technical engineer licensed in North Carolina.” Is subgrade testing for these items to be included in our base bid or is the CM-R going to conduct the testing? In the past on CM-R projects the Contractor has not had to include any geo-technical testing. 1. RESPONSE: The Contractor is responsible for coordinating with the Owner’s Geotechnical Engineer for testing, and to provide notice and access to the work area in a timely fashion prior to proceeding with work. On sheet C-401.B, the pipe sizes referenced in the notes and on the trench drain schedule are conflicting with one another. Per Notes #4 & #5 it states that the pipe size is to be 6” SCH 40 PVC from TD-4 to JB-6 and from TD-3 to JB-5; however, on the trench drain schedule the outlet size says 4” DIP. Which pipe size and pipe type is correct? 1. RESPONSE: 4” DIP is correct. The drawing has been changed. AAAA. On sheet C-401.B, what are the dotted lines going to JB-5 & JB-6 and from the CO on the West side of the Building to the Cleanout w/ Invert Elevation of 501.9? Are these sock drains for the landscape beds? If so, what are the pipe sizes, pipe types, and invert elevations? 1. RESPONSE: Yes, those are planter drains. They are to be 4” perforated Sch. 40 PVC sock pipe @ 0.5% minimum. The invert is flexibe as long as the pipe ties in to the downstream inlet, maintains positive flow, and has 0.5% minimum slope. For details regarding location in the planter beds, see the Landscape drawings. BBBB. On sheet C-401.B, what is the top elevation of the pump tank where the 5’x 5’ pre-cast structure is to be installed? Detail 7/C-412.B gives the rim elevation; however, it does not give the elevation of the top of the pump tank. 1. RESPONSE: Please refer to the Structural drawings for information relating to the pump tank elevations. CCCC. On sheet C-401.B, may the 15” RCP from the Pump Tank to CB-3 be substituted with DIP?
