• Fixed Furniture – Some part of the Student Workspace is connected to the floor.  Examples: Auditorium styles classrooms, Fixed Tables and Chairs, Fixed Tables with moving chairs
  • Moveable Furniture – All parts of the Student Workspace can be moved.  Examples: Table and Chair, Desk
  • Dry Teaching Lab is a safe, chemical- and biological-free space dedicated to computational, analytical, and theoretical work. Common in fields like computer science, physics, and engineering, these labs use modeling, and data analysis to help students apply theory to practical projects with instructor guidance.
  • Wet Teaching Lab is a hands-on instructional facility equipped with fume hoods, sinks, and safety gear for experiments involving liquids, chemicals, and biological materials. It bridges lecture theory and practice by enabling students to safely conduct real-world scientific experiments.
  • Simulation Teaching Lab provides a controlled, realistic environment for hands-on, experiential learning. Common in healthcare, business, and education, it allows students to safely build practical skills, apply theory, and sharpen critical thinking through real-world scenarios prior to professional practice.
  • Creative Arts Studio is a dedicated space for hands-on learning across visual arts, design, and music. Featuring small classes, it fosters collaboration, experimentation, and project-based work. Students hone practical techniques and critical thinking through personalized mentoring, creative exploration—from physical media to audio production and performance—and constructive critique.
  • Wet Lab – a specialized, controlled environment designed to conduct experimental investigations involving biological materials, chemicals, and liquids. Equipped with dedicated utilities, fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, and specialized instrumentation, these facilities typically support original discovery and grant-funded research under rigorous safety and regulatory standards.
  • Dry Lab – a chemical- and biological-free facility dedicated to computational, analytical, and theoretical investigation, using field, dry or data samples. These spaces leverage high-performance computing or common equipment  (e.g. GPU/CPU server, microscopes, mass spectrometers, balances, etc.), advanced modeling, and data analysis.
  • Clinical and Translational Lab – bridges benchtop discovery and patient care by moving scientific findings into practical healthcare applications. Operating under strict regulatory and ethical standards, this interdisciplinary facility connects researchers, clinicians, and industry partners to develop novel therapies, validate diagnostics, and evaluate treatment safety and efficacy in human participants from the bench to the bedside.
  • Simulation Lab – an advanced, instrumented facility designed to replicate complex, real-world environments for experimental investigation, technology validation, and behavioral study. Often utilizing high-fidelity mockups, immersive virtual reality, or hardware-in-the-loop systems, it enables researchers to safely test novel devices, evaluate human performance under stress, and model critical scenarios without real-world risk.
  • Enclosed – Hard walls, floor-to-ceiling, with or without a door
  • Cubicle – Demountable, system furniture, with or without a door
  • Open Workspace –No partitions, no walls, no doors
  • Lactation room is a private, secure, and sanitary facility equipped with seating, power outlets, and handwashing access to support individuals expressing breast milk or nursing on campus.
